How do I make an Appointment?

Simply call us at (Staten Island) during our working hours.

Do I need a referral to make an appointment?

Most medical specialists will accept only referred patients. This is mainly to try to ensure that the specialist you are seeing is appropriate for you and your condition. Check with your insurance company to see if a referral is necessary.

What to bring for your initial consultation?

For your initial consultation you will need to bring a referral letter from your physician if necessary.

Here is check list for your initial consultation

  • Referral letter
  • Insurance or Medicare card
  • List of medications
  • X-ray and scan results

We encourage you to come to your initial consultation with a written list of questions to ensure you don’t forget to ask them when you are seeing the doctor.

Are my medical records kept private and confidential?

Your medical file is handled with the utmost respect for your privacy. Our staff is bound by strict confidentiality requirements as a condition of employment regarding your medical records. We will not release the contents of your medical file without your consent.

Post-op FAQ

When can I shower?

A light wetting of the wound is permitted once it is completely dry and has no drainage. This is usually 7 days after surgery. Any questions call Dr. Drucker.

How long should I use pain medication?

Narcotic Medicine to control your pain after surgery is essential part of your recovery. These medicines can cause undesirable side effects. It is important to try to reduce the dosage and frequency of these medications as soon as possible. There are alternative medications which may have fewer side effects. Please speak to Dr. Drucker about these medications.

When can I drive?

You should not be driving while on pain medication.

If your left hip or knee were operated, on driving can resume after pain medication is no longer needed.

If the right hip or knee were operated, on driving can resume at 6 weeks after surgery.

My Hip/Knee clicks is that normal?

This is a common observation patients make after surgery. It generally resolves over time.

My leg is swollen, is that normal?

This is normal after surgery. This should significantly improve with elevation of the leg. If it doesn’t please notify Dr. Drucker.

When can I go to the dentist?

If possible wait at least 6 weeks, although 3 months is preferable. Remember to ask Dr. Drucker or the Dentist for prophylactic antibiotics.
